Read Stuff With Me

“I’m struggling to stay in this world, because everything just touches me so deeply. I’m not doing this for attention. I’m doing this to be an inspiration and to show that I can be strong.”
-Amanda Todd

Do you know Amanda Michelle Todd? Even I didn’t know her until a few days back when the news about her suicide appeared just about everywhere: newspapers, social networking sites or numerous web pages. For the people who have not yet heard of her case, let me brief you regarding her life and the cause of her death. Amanda, a 15 year old Canadian girl, was plainly a victim of cyber-bullying which had its roots in the social networking site, Facebook. It all began close to three years ago when she started video-chatting over the internet to meet new people. She befriended a man who convinced her to flash her breasts…

those small moments

When the rain is falling outside your window, it’s the perfect time to curl up in your bed, drink some hot chocolate, and get all sentimental as you listen to that CD full of mellow songs, pretending that you are in one of those sad movies where the weather is sympathizing with you in your most recent heartbreak. Either that, or you’re just curling up in your bed and snoring the afternoon away (good for you). I know, I know, you were busy the entire week and you deserve the nap. I wasn’t judging you; don’t feel all guilty. You can sleep as much as you want, and I’ll pretend that I’m not secretly judging you for that. It’s all good, okay?

Rainy days though are more than just the hot chocolate, the cool air, and the opportunity to grab a decent nap. When it’s raining and you’re indoors, there…

Beautiful.

itsintuition

My father was a military man.  He was an athlete, an artist, a music lover, a charming smart-ass who always had a clever retort.  He was a 6’6″ giant and there was nothing scarier than his tennis racket sized hands, though he rarely had to lift them to make my brother and I behave.  He seemed to literally be the “Big Man On Campus” on our small Air Force Base.  As kids, we couldn’t go anywhere without someone recognizing him and wanting to talk for a few minutes.

When I was 9, my little league team was the Cubs, we were in 1st place.  We were playing the Pirates, they were in last place.  It wasn’t hard to tell why, their coach was negative and aggressive, yelling at players and taunting the other team.  I was at bat and he was screaming at the pitcher “C’MON SON PUT IT DOWN…

Philosophy of a Gamer : Inspire, get back up, win.

The most beautiful and inspirational quote by a gamer i Ever read !!!

When times are hard, things look tough, and every hope seems to fade away. 🙂

Just tell yourself.

The challenge is only as good as the difficulty.

Its just the legendary mode, not everyone can manage.

You are one of the few who can.

You might have to fall down, lose, press alt+f4 and start again.

But then its all a part of the learning routine.

Maybe you would feel this is never gonna change, that you will not be able to do it. But then again, things always change for the better.

Start again, lower the difficulty, accept a lesser challenge, once you beat that and get back up on your feet. Do not hesitate, do not be afraid to go back to what beat you. You just have to try more, maybe restart it. Maybe mess up some seasons. But it does not matter. What matters is how much you get better. Because, well, you can never be worse.

And one day, you’ll start turning the tide, taking control. Loving what you do, You’ll feel alive. You’ll start relishing each and every minute of challenge and keep on getting better at beating it. And finally,
A time will come when even legendary seems to be nothing more than beginner.

But then, do not pity it, because there might be someone still better than you out there. Then again, you might not be the one alone who’s capable of the demons that every one of us face.  You might face hurdles bigger than any you’ve faced ever before, in them. There might be a hell of a lot more people who found the inspiration. But then again, not many have to be as good as you. Keep enjoying it, you will learn to beat them too. Always remember to get back up, get a rematch, try again, keep at it.And finally, one day, one fine day, or maybe night; come to think of it, you might find that you have gone from a measly beginner to a true legend. And you might not find anyone who can take the success away from you.
But if u did not find anyone, do not pity the world, the next FIFA is just a year away.
Chill, Shut down your gaming rig. Go get some sleep, have some beer, go partying, take your girl out and make her feel like how you do now, catch some real football and grab something to eat. And don’t forget to go play some with your friends in an empty yard with creepers and the ‘goalpost’ trees.

Don't Under Think It

My name is Rupert Hope Denton.

Now close your eyes and conjure up an image of what Rupert Hope Denton might look like. A cherub perhaps? Surrounded by other cherubs with names like Caleb, Alexander and Tobias? Maybe Caleb, Alexander and Tobias are savagely beating Rupert Hope Denton with their lutes and harps for having such a wussy name. So when a guy called Rupert Hope finds himself in a city called Philly he ought to be scared.

Philadelphia is a tough city. Everyone looks like a character from The Wire, The Sopranos or Skins. I on the other hand look like a character from Doug. Everyone has a take no shit suffer no fools attitude. I on the other hand, am a fool and talk a lot of shit.

I’m standing in line at a restaurant in Italian Market in South Philadelphia. One of those establishments were the walls…

Tom Gething re reading

Gething:  Thank you for agreeing to this interview.

Semicolon:  The pleasure’s all mine; thank you for having me.

Gething:  My interest is in the controversy you have stirred in the literary world.

Semicolon: I’ve done no such thing; those who don’t use me seem to be causing all the fuss.

Gething:  That’s my point. Many modern writers, in particular Cormac McCarthy in his interview with Oprah, have called for your extinction. What did you do to create such a virulent reaction?

Semicolon:  Ask Mr. McCarthy; to my knowledge I did nothing.

Gething:  But you must have done something. He’s not calling for the elimination of the period or the question mark, or even the colon in certain instances.

Semicolon:  No, he seems to have targeted me in particular…and the exclamation mark; I don’t know what we did to deserve such enmity. My purpose seems…
